PARSKY DELIVERS – FOR HIMSELF

As you know, about 18 months ago Gerry Parsky promised to unleash a torrent of Cabinet-level biggies streaming into California to raise buckets of money for the California Republican Party.

As you also know, that torrent has turned out to be a trickle.

Well, we’re happy to report that Gerry has delivered a two-fer. Two big Republican names will be coming in to California on fundraiser: Florida Governor Jeb Bush and new York Governor George Pataki (OK – more like one and a half Republicans). Better late than never, huh?

But wait! There’s a catch. Isn’t it always that way with Gerry Parsky? No such thing as just straight up good news.

You see, as desperately as our debt-ridden state party needs every dime it can harvest, Gerry is only giving the CRP half of the take from these two events. The other half will go to a Parsky-controlled slush fund. For what purpose? Again who knows – other than Gerry Parsky.

It reminds us of those old cartoons where the smart character is dividing up the loot between himself and his dim-witted side-kick: “One for you. One for me. Two for you. One, two for me. Three for you. One, two, three for me.”

It’s not as though the party couldn’t use all that money – what with being broke and having to pay legal bills associated with the 21st Century mess and all. The thing is, Parsky, as head of the CRP Operations Committee and all-powerful Shadow Chairman, is completely aware of the CRP’s dire financial straights. What possible use does Parsky have for that money that outweighs making the state party financially solvent?

We doubt that question will ever come up at the Operations Committee.
